Residential Projects Restoration & Renovation Adaptive Reuse and/or Sympathetic Addition New Design & Construction – less than 5,000 sq.ft. New Design & Construction – more than 5,000 sq.ft. Exterior Spaces: Gardens & Landscapes Residential Multi-Unit Projects

Who's Eligible: Architects, Interior Designers, Landscape Architects, Custom Builders, Developers and other design and building professionals are eligible to submit entries. Submissions can be from an individual or on behalf of a design team.

What's Eligible: The judges will consider completed projects in any of the 11 categories specified above. For the 2013 Palladio Awards, projects must be completed between November 2011 and November 2013. The project can be a complete building, landscape, streetscape, etc. The project can also be a significant sub-unit of a larger project (e.g., an interior) where the applicant had control over the entire design and/or execution of the sub-unit.

If You Are One of the Winners

• Winning projects for Residential Architecture will receive full-color editorial coverage in the July Issue of Period Homes magazine.
• Winning projects for Commercial, Institutional & Public Architecture will receive full-color editorial coverage in the June Issue of Traditional Building magazine.
• Winners will also be honored at a V.I.P. Palladio Awards dinner as part of the awards ceremony.
• Winners receive an engraved architectural cast-bronze trophy – The Palladium – designed and custom-cast for this competition by Historical Arts & Casting, Inc., of West Jordan, UT.

Winning projects will also be highlighted in the Palladio Awards section of the websites of both Period Homes and Traditional Building magazines.

Winners are encouraged to publicize their projects in other media. However, Restore Media, the publisher of Traditional Building and Period Homes, does request that winners also mention its name and the title of the relevant magazine in any subsequent publicity.

Suggested language: "The Palladio Awards are sponsored by Traditional Building [or Period Homes] magazine, which is published by Restore Media, LLC."

Deadlines, Fees and Entry Requirements

How to Enter: Fill out the Official Entry Form, and carefully follow the instructions on the reverse side to prepare the rest of your submission.

Fees: Entry fees are $125 for the first project submitted, and $100 for each subsequent project. Entry fees are non-refundable and must accompany each submission. Checks should be made payable to "Restore Media, LLC."

Deadline: Deadline for receipt of the completed entry forms and supporting materials for the 2014 Palladio Awards is November 22, 2013.

Judging and selection of the Award Winners is done by a panel of distinguished architectural designers selected by the editors of Traditional Building and Period Homes.

Judging Criteria

The Palladio Awards are named in honor of Andrea Palladio, the Renaissance architect who created modern architecture for his time while using models from the past for inspiration and guidance. The judges will be applying the same criteria that Palladio used in his own work: The projects should meet all the functional needs of contemporary usage while applying lessons learned from previous generations to create beauty in the built environment. Among the factors that the judges will be evaluating are: Refinement and appropriateness of the design; suitability of design in relation to the program and the project's context; appropriate selection and use of materials, quality of construction and craftsmanship and overall design excellence.
